You sure let him go long enough before you finally offered him some good
tippet, you must've been having too much fun laughing. Nice pics and a
few great looking fish!

Oh sure! You guys tell me there is a big snow storm and I can't join you to
watch Danl breaking off fish.
Nice pics. Glad you guys were able to get out. It was pretty snowy in
Denver on that friday. I'm told 30 inches or so a bit south of me.
I'll link up with you guys one of these days . . .or . . or . . .er . .
.I'll just go fish'n.

Pretty good day. I thought the weather might bring some fish to the
surface to feed on the Olives, but no luck on that. That stretch of
river has "world class" fish. They average about the same length as fish
from the San Juan, Green, Bighorn etc. but are heavier for their length.
This with no other anglers competing for them. The drawbacks are ,
because of the low water levels at time, there aren't very many fish per
mile and aesthetically, it's not as pretty as a mountain river.

Runoff's started here. Think you'll have to wait a bit for some stream
fishin'. Gonna be checking out the Carp over the next few weeks.

Yeah..Bad tippet!! That's what it was..bad tippet! I bleeve it had more to
do with operator error than anything. Although I did buy a new spool of
perzactly the same tippet at Charlie's fly shop the next day and only lost
one more fish the last two days.

The same kind of thing happened at the San Juan this last winter. The first
day I couldn't seem to land anything, but after that I seemed to get the
hang of the larger, hotter fish. The little native rainbows and goldens
don't require such delicate technique to land.

I had a real blast fishing with Willi and Charlie. I'm definitely going back
someday.

Glad to hear Charlie got out with ya! Did he fish?

Did you guys fish the Thompson? How'd you do?

Nope, bit I did wander aimlessly with a rod in my hand

It was craptabulous- very windy and the fish were moody. We hooked a
couple.
