Jamie You'll have to drive a couple of hours West to do any cold water/trout fishin'. There is plenty of warm water fishin' to be had in and around Charlotte. However: Read my TR's and give me a holler, if you are interested in fishin' some beautiful trout streams. Op |

Jamie my condolences on the sentence to charlotte, but there are plenty of good watersheds with fish not too far from there. where are you coming from and what kind of flyfishing do you prefer? bass lakes abound in the vicinity. you'll be an hour and a half or so from most decent trout streams. look for the route to morganton, find wilson creek outfitters in the old downtown area, and ask for wally. i think there may be a fly shop or two in charlotte yellow pages you can check out as well. jeff |

Thanks, Jeff.
I'm coming from Delaware. I'm used to stocked trout in small streams. Every once in a while we get up to the Yellow Breeches. Too bad about the lack of trout fishing in Charlotte, guess I'll have to try for some bass. "jeff" wrote in message news ![]() Me wrote: Hi folks. I know lots of people who'd think that's not a bad deal, all in all. I'd guess that within a two hour drive are some pretty good trout streams. I go to Charlotte from time to time - going on Thursday for the day, in fact. Bob |

They can't look down on us anymore anyway. We just got a Ham's Restaurant. Seriously, you wont find much trout fishing in these parts. Way too hot. The bass pond fishing is great if you can get on a pond. Fishing the Catawba River at I 85 will bring in some fun smallies. If you've got a boat large mouth, strippers, crappie and bream are plentiful on the lakes. Matter of fact, if you have a boat I want to be your friend. You can get to some mountain waters in an hour and a half from downtown, great waters in 2. Position yourself in the northwest area and you'll be even closer. Thanks, Drew.
I'll be positioned in Union County. Just over the line. I was thinking about a boat, but I think I'll start off with a kayak and see how that goes. 2 hours isn't too bad. I'll just have to make a day of it and the wife will just have to understand! Either that or I'll be a grumpy ******* until she lets me go. "Drew" wrote in message ... Me wrote: Hi folks.
