Line Recommendations

I just picked up a Scott SVS904 two piece rod. Intended use is fishing
panfish, trout and light smallmouth duty. I need to purchase a line for the
rod and I am considering either a Wulf Triangle Taper 4 or a top quality
double taper. I envision requiring good roll casting ability and line
control when using nymphs, small stramers (size 8 and below) and dries.
Distances will be typically in the range of 25 to 45 feet. Anyone with
personal experience with this rod care to share an opinion on a good line
match?

such thing as "light duty" when it comes to the redeyed rocket? :-))

Frank you are quite correct. I love bronze (spending much of my free time
volunteering for TOSA at this time). I guess my "light duty" comment is
more in regards to that precious period of the season when these scrappers
focus on caddis and mayflies. Its fun to cast size 12 soft hackles on the
Great Miami tribs to 14 - 18" fish that are flashing non-stop.

I have to admit tho, that a time or two I had the audacity to use a 4 wt on
smallmouth, but always felt a little uncomfortable, sort of like the danged
fish *deserved* a bigger rod, and what if a really big one came along and
handed it back to me minus the tip section?

If you want to chuck streamers, forget the TT. Try one of the long
bellied WF lines on the market instead.
