bought myself some fishin gear today. i latched onto a man who was lookin
at fishing gear with his sons and explained that i am inexperienced, looking
to buy a decent starter set, and he spent about ten minutes showing me
stuff. i finally ended up with a shakespeare pole that came with a bunch of
stuff- jigs, grubs, hooks, bobbers, pre-rigged lures and what-not.

Grubs? It comes with grubs? Are they fresh?

BTW, we don't call them bobbers. We call them indicators. :-)

I'm sure they're very effective for horneyhead hogsuckers. Do you even
need a license for those? Wouldn't a bounty be more appropriate?

This anti-elitist stuff only goes so far. :-)

However, it's the only newsgroup that's got any fishing information on
it. I was lurking, and even posting a bit, while I was still trying
to learn to spincast and had no thought of flyfishing, because I'd
taken the idea that trout were going to be my target. I haven't
progressed much in flyfishing because I'm lazy, only like good
weather, and get distracted by the water and the scenery.

Sample some of the other 'fishing' groups some time. Bah. Useless,
even for such as I am in the way of a fisherman.

Often taunted by trout.
Only a fool would refuse to believe in luck. Only a damn fool would rely on it.
