Default Quick tip - clean off green stuff on electrical connection

My boat trailer electrical harness and the receptacle on my Ford have a lot
of green stuff on some of the connections. The connection is marginal. I
recall that vinegar can clean this up, but I'm not sure. What is the best
way to clean up these connections?

Thanks from Rick

I have heard of people using plain Coca-Cola in a pinch to remove the crud.

Electrical contact cleaner from Radio Shack works well. Once removed apply
some dielectric grease to connections will help prevent some of the
corrosions.

Once all the corrosion is off (green stuff) I use a product called
"Corrosion X". Been using it for years, even spray it under the dash of
my boat, the connectors of the t/m, and all the electronics connectors.
In CA we fish all year and the winters are damp and cool and this
product works great for protection. Good luck...
