Does anyone have any experience with these rods, or the Shikari blanks
they are made from? Thanks Dan |

Thanks Dan Never heard of this particular rod "artist" before, but based on the poor and/or blurry pictures of what appeared to be only two rods, I didn't see anything particularly difficult to do, and it didn't appear to be done all _that_ well. The wrapping and other, er, decoration wasn't to my taste regardless of his skill (or lack thereof), but that's why there is chocolate and vanilla. A couple of thoughts: 1. If he takes the same care finishing rods as he did producing or at least proofing his website, his work can't be all that great, but... 2. A amateurish website with errors and blurry pictures doesn't absolutely reflect upon his rod-finishing skills or ability. If it were me, I'd want to see examples in person before I ordered one unless the price was such that it was worth it for the parts alone - as always, YMMV. TC, R |
