Attaching a fighting butt?

Hello,
Looking at a three forks 8wt and it does not have a fighting butt does
anyone know of a company that makes one that is easy to attach? Like a
slip on or something like that?
any help appreciated.

Trying to put a fighting butt on that POS is throwing good money after
bad. Flawed economics, that may be why you don't have money. I don't
think you can get a good reel seat with a fighting butt for less than
$20.
By the time you screw up the existing handel trying to put it on your
going to have tripped over a dollar to pick up a dime.
As DIY project it don't seem to have the potential of being good or
cheap.

butt. Buy a good rod - and yes you can afford it, otherwise you

You don't seem to be too happy with your pos fly rod, so you have to

Classism? Bull****. You're a fly fisherman. Would you buy cheap
tires for a race car? Flimsy helmet to ride your bike? A pair of
brown shoes to go with your tux? Spend the money on a good rod and
you won't complain (or at least not about the lack of a fighting
butt). No classism involve. Properism..... is that a word? It is
now!

BTW, putting a piece of rubber meant to go on a walking cane is not a
fighting butt. A fighting butt (a good one, at least) actually makes
the fly rod longer by a few inches at the butt thereby making it
easier to land a big fish. I have a ten foot Sage 7 weight with a
screw-in fighting butt. It is an enormous help when fighting a big
trout or salmon. Without it, it is just another 10 foot Sage 7 weight
and no walking cane rubber is gonna make it better.
