I used to collect all of those packets from various things that I had
bought. If they were the beebee-shaped kind, I would crush them into a
powder and put them in an empty film cannister. It was basically a poor
man's "dry shake" and worked very well.

Uhhhhhh, no. I used to take the ones out of beef jerky packs and any
electronic products that I purchased. I don't recall ever buying potato
chips that had desiccant in them. Am I just too young or what? bseg

I use the little bags that come with camera and electronic stuff as well as the
little cylinder-shaped ones that come in some Rx bottles to keep the internals
of my hearing aids dry when I'm out roadin' for trout and camping and generally
living like a pig. Got a little plastic jar I put the aids in on top of the
dessicant and seal it shut overnight wjhile I sleep. Works great..

In fact, it works better than that Gawdamn Frog Fanny works on flies...

I agree! Frog's Fanny is neat but it wears off too damn quickly and
isn't much of a real floatant. It wears off pretty damn quick on
nymphs too and is basically something that I keep around for specific
usages. A good dry shake, a good paste floatant (I still use Gink
because I don't see a need to use second best;-) and the Frog's Ass
waiting in the wing covers all of the situations that I have
experienced.
