By James R Babb - A Flyfishers Four Seasons

This appears to be his altest book 2005

IMHO This is Is one of the best and most intersting and poingnant books on
fishing - flyfishing and life that I have read in a while
I thoroughly enjoyed this book esp the last 3-4 chapters

There were some observations he made that I could quote into perpetuity
Some beautiful comments
-----------------------------------------------

It's getting warmer and time to fish as the snow pack is starting to melt w
the recent spate of warm weather
However no complaints here in NW Montana as it was a good and much needed
year for snow
My reading will diminsh as we will fishing soon

However
I think that I will read more of this author

Has anyone read this and or his other books?

He has a column in Gray's Sporting Journal that I enjoy.

In addition to his offerings in Gray's, I enjoyed his book
"Crosscurrents".

If you are interested in the business of angling writing/editing
(Steve, perhaps this would be of interest to you!), you might like to
hear this interview that Zach Matthews did with him over at Itinerant

Thanks! I also see "Ted Leeson on Writing." Perhaps that's as close as
I'll get to an audit seat at Oregon State's English Dept.

No, River Music had it's first printing in 2001. It was his second book, the
first being the afformentioned Crosscurrents in 1999. His latest book is
Fly-Fishin' Fool and that was published in 2005. As with the other guy I
have looked forward to his columns in Gray's over the years but lately it
seems to he's lost his edge or gotten too comfy with his free trips to some
pricey lodge or depending too much upon his friendship with Gierach. He's
even been known to peruse ROFF, having mentioned it in the first book.

Agree it's a good read but then again, I like reading Leeson's stuff too.
