Default Puzzle Lake Ont.

I'm a lurker who likes to read some of your posts & I occasionally post
also. I'm semiretired & have been fishing my area (Lancaster County Pa.)
since the age of 5. (Conestoga Creek, Susquehanna River etc.) The guys
in my family have been going to Puzzle Lake Ont. since around 1976. It
is a 5 mile long lake carved out by the ice age & rockbound. If possible
it has too much structure. When we first started going up (around labor
day '76) we caught lots of pike up to 42 inches or so, but now the bass
have taken over & we always catch some big'uns. (a big improvement)There
are only 4 cabins on the lake & the wildlife is magnificent. The trash
talk has been going on for weeks on the internet with my nephews telling
each other how good they are at catching fish. (actually I'm the best
LOL) There's a cove they named after me (Carl's Cove) where there's a
sheer rock face dropping off into deep water & I've had great success
over the years with Torpedoes & Pop-Rs off the bank. My biggest was a 6
lb+ smallie a few years back & the shock of my life was a 10lb
(estimated) largie that knocked my Torpedo 3' out of the water & totally
cleared the surface himself. I'm kind of glad I didn't hook him because
I had 6 lb. Mono on & the way that largie broke water I wouldn't have
had much chance to land her... .
