Well of course you do not explain it away, but I think I will wait for
the lawyers to weigh in. One long ago undergrad semester of
Constitutional law (or was it two?) means I know how little I know. So
lets see what the barristers say before we get all worked up.

Except . . . this Utah business of yours: I am starting to be
suspicious, as, in addition to my stint at BYU, I also am a grad of
the University of Utah. AND I believe that you have some distant
relationship to Alabama. So, considering your notorious seriousness
about sports competitions, AND the stunning upset victory of the Utah
UTES OVER ALABAMA IN THE SUGAR BOWL, thereby demonstrating once again
the has-been quality of certain over-rated college athletic programs
(Illini rhymes with Heine) could it be, perhaps subliminally even,
that your expressed feelings in these matters are somewhat influenced
by, nay driven by, ever present feelings of inadequacy, in the face of
the . . . well no that could not be, now, could it? Hummmmmm.
Go Utah.

having ever attempted to "weigh in" on such matters around here, most
lawyers would probably prefer an attempt at convincing beancounter of
the hope obama has brought to this country... but, that said...and it
pains me to say this... forty is right. also the 14th amendment makes
the principles of the federal bill of rights applicable to the
states...plus, most state constitutions have similar provisions.
