It's not something that's done a lot, but I think if you were to investigate up the rivers a little way there could be some likely spots. Try Levington Creek or some of the areas on Shotley side of the Stour - I have heard of large bass being taken on spinning gear around here. Also have a look around the Deben entrance. Do you not think that the clarity of the water , because of the silt/sand
suspended, will be working against along that whole east anglian/essex/kent coast line? Much better chance in clear water - though you might pick up a mullet or two?
