I was asked to build a dock on lake front property. Does the dock have
to float or can I build it like I would a deck? Please help. The dock would run 20 out into the water and would be about 2 feet deep at it's deepest point. -- Chris F Long Island, USA. Fisherman by nature, goofball by society. |

Some like wooden docks with plenty of horizontal boards for the fish to hold up against. Build a solid/non-floating steel dock with no horizontal beams and the fish and fishermen will probably stay away. And why are you asking this on a fly tying forum? ------------------------------------------------ "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." - Dan Quayle |

With all the fisherman around here I figured someone might have built one on his lake front property. -- Chris F Long Island, USA. Fisherman by nature, goofball by society. I built my frame out of 2x6 pressure treated wood with 5/4 decking and used
barrells for a float. on one end and the other end was hinged to compensate for water level changes I would not use the barrells again but would use the square floats available now the barells suck unless you can make a large square platform. I will post partial picture on alt bin pictures hope this helps. "America the beautiful" dom_Fries wrote in message t... I was asked to build a dock on lake front property.
