There's a German name on it that I can't remember offhand but we'll find it somewhere. One nice thing about Tectan is that it is thinner than any other mono for a given lb test. But I don't know that I would call it cheap: it's more expensive than almost all other monos, no ? Cheap compared to 30m tippett spools. It is pretty expensive for mono. bruce h |

They must be a decent-sized company, because they sell other fishing gear, and at least some of it is designed by them. |

Hmm. Didn't notice that. What if I am not using lead? I use Dinsmore No.
1's or Gremlin non-lead split shots. Side note: we can use 15 hook points. That's 15 flies if we can cast them...I have only gone with 4 in the local ponds. "Scott Seidman" wrote in message .4... TIA, Randy On the NY tribs, its illegal to have lead hanging below the hook. Scott If you're not using lead, it's fine if regs permit more than one hook-- they don't on NY tribs. The whole rig, even with the lead, is legal in most places for most types of fishing, but I rarely see a need to put lead below the hook. I think the risk of foul-hooking goes up. NY banned the configuration on tribs because too many people were intentionally "lining" fish. While there are some nearly harmless configurations that involve lead below the hook, the regs were drawn up that way to make enforcement easy. I also don't generally use more than two nymphs-- its just too much of a pain in the ass. I wouldn't want to daisy-chain them if I were using more than two-- I'd arrange a traditional "cast" Scott |
