I've been reading similar statistics. With help, I believe most individuals will be Okay. Discussed with a hiking partner (also my physician) who pointed out that you'd get fairly sick. Trouble may come when in a remote area alone. Then, dragging a sore limb while feeling sick wouldn't be fun. I guess that's the chance we take when we enjoy the outdoors. Best protection appears to be good judgment and awareness. Jeff
