Is fly fishing too "advanced" or could we hope to succeed just a bit
.... Our family is on vacation. At a last minute we have rented a fishing boat on lake dillon CO for tomorrow morning. We are rank newbies to serious fishing (couple of times a year we take our cheap spin casting rods to lake near Fort Worth and catch mostly pan fish.) We didn't expect to fish so we'll have to buy whatever tomorrow at WalMart (opens a 7:00 AM; boat rental is 8:45 AM). Recommenations on what kind of fish should we target? Suggestions on what rods, reals, bait we should buy? Thanks in advance for your help, Mark P.S. We've already spent $$$ (most of our vacation budget) on a fly fishing guided half day earlier this week. I could not attend but my wife and kids enjoyed the outing. Sadly, I don't think they learned a lot .... though each did catch and release several small trout. |
