Since the idiots have started posting on this group I have been using
outlook express as my newsgroup reader.


There are lots of better newsreaders than Outlook - in fact practically all
of them are better than outlook.

There is a setting on Outlook
express where you can block users, block subject lines and even block posts
that appear on other newsgroups. This leaves me with no junk postings to
wade through and saves me getting cheesed off with the idiots. Hope this


Filters and killfile filters are (technically not part of the reader but of
the news transport/client) a feature of practically all newsreaders.
Filtering on X-posts can be a little OT as there are sometimes relevant
threads posted to several fishing groups. If you look at the headers you'll
find a couple of common constituents of the bang path (jargon: the Path:
header with '!' seperators) which mark out Pete the troll whichever ID he's
using. Filter on those and then on the obvious veggie and politics
newsgroups and you'll have the same effect without losing anything
worthwhile.
