Any benefit in distance between one spinning reel and another given the
same parameters- line, weight, pole, effort? I have an old Quantum Snapshot spinning real, I think 15y/o or so, with the trigger & pin. I havent used it much so its in good condition but looking at maybe getting a new spinner. Top concern is more distance. I fish from shore exclusively. There are a few spots -bushes, sunkin trees that I have to really whip the pole to reach. At times throwing the crawler off. Needing oh 15 more feet with less effort but dont want to add sinkers or the like. I too want the real to be under 8oz to go with a 3.6oz St Croix Avid 8' rod. Ive been eyeing a Shimano Stradic FI 1000. Reasons reputation, weight 7.4oz and the advertizing of the way it winds/lays the line on spool AERO WRAPII and their "new" spool-lip shape. All to increase distance. Well does it :-)? Bass dont get too big under 16" mostly so not needing a "strong"/drag real. Thanks Ray |
