My wife is a movie-phile and subscribes to NetFlix.
She is also in NYC right now on a vacation. When we chatted on the phone I mentioned that her new DVD had come in the mail. She replied, "Open it and watch it, then go ahead and send it back." I argued that I wasn't that interested but she insisted that I open it. The sweet, dear thing had put a Kelly Galloup DVD about the Madison on her list thinking of me all alone and bored while she's gone ... G I watched it last evening. Review: Worth the price we paid ( nothing extra ) but not much more than that. Maybe a person that has never been to the area and has very little overall FFing experience would find it useful, but there is little that can't be learned in 5 minutes in any area fly shop ( accesses, reasonable fly selection ) . Production quality is borderline amateurish, and there is damn little attractive footage even though it's shot in a beautiful area. I didn't even feel a restless need to get on the road and go fishing after watching it ... something fish porn nearly always does to me ... the one thing I did like was that few fish were caught and none were big ... made me feel like a better angler than some videos where every cast nets a whale G |
