Tongariro and Turangi Flooding
The TT has broken its banks as well and people have been evacuated.
The Hinemaia is running 2 metres over the top of the damn. The Tongariro usually flows at 16 m3/sec, she is running at 1005m3/sec. It is getting nasty all round, and looks like the lower North Island is in for another pasting later this afternoon. Tony Bishop
