Default Looking for a good rod Salmon in Alaska

Im going salmon fishing (maybe King but I hope to bring back a lot so it
won't just be a King). I am looking for a good rod that will serve me well
on this trip and other general river trips. Can anyone sugest a good
rod/reel and where to get it?

If you are travelling to the Kenai Peninsula, the best place with
unbelievable prices is Soldotna's Trustworthy Hardware. As a Kenai
River guide, I purchase most of my tackle here. For example, the
Lamiglass Kenai Special (great salmon rod for all species) lists on
sale at Sportsman's Warehouse for $179... the normal price at
Trustworthy is $129! (last year prices). G-Loomis is also a great rod
for salmon in Alaska.

For a reel, try the Shimano Charter Special TR1000LD. Ambassadeur also
makes a fine reel.

I recommend waiting until you get to Soldotna to buy your tackle,
you'll save a lot of money and get quality gear.
