trolling motor question

Hey Bruce,

I've used a 12 lb thrust trolling motor on my 17 ft canoe. On high it would
push the canoe at a slow paddle speed. I also have a 32 lb thrust motor that
will push it at a good strong two person paddle speed. It works out great!
The only time I use high is when I'm in a hurry to get home! I would
recommend the 32 lb thrust range. I picked one up two years ago for about
$70.00.

I have a 16 ft canoe and want to put a motor on it. Are there any guides as
to what thrust I should use? I have found a 55 lb thrust one but I am not
planning on skining behind this, just some bass fishing on the local lake.
