Default Really off topic but...

Being as Most of you are American I am hoping you know the answer
just what is non uniformed US military personell?
one of my security team was ID ing a woman last night and this is what she
produced it was photo ID the stated she was non uniformed US military
personell,
she was also with a US navy dude who had navy ID
she did not fit the standard military type person as in she was large and
not real clean cut.
anyone have any ideas? my security team was going nuts over it last night.
sorry for the off topic.

and to kind of steer this to a topic the ice is still on the lakes here so
fishing is no good to thick to cast through and too thin to fish through.

I spent 22 years in the navy, the only non uniform personnel I knew of,
were members of the Navy Intelligence Serivece. They did however wear
the uniform at times, but were authorized to be in "civies" on duty,
when carrying out their investigative assignments.

That is probably what the lady was.

Any civilian employee of the military has such an ID, especially
overseas, or in high security, I would guess today, all civilian
personal that work on a military base now, are required to carry such an ID

They "work" for the military, thus they are "personnel" of the military,
not "members" of the military,

my security team thinks she was some kind of navy spy
but she was 20 Years old and did not fit the idea of a military person not
to be mean but she weighed about 220 and was not real clean looking
we ended up giving her and the navy boy she was with the boot for being loud
and rude it just made me curious
about her ID

She could be a technical advisor (ie: programmer or other computer oriented
MOS). Usually they don't see a lot of light during the day, and eat at their
desk a lot...could account for the weight issue.

She was probably legit, just not a field operations type. The armed forces
have their own need for data entry and clerical types too afterall.
