Experienced this once while fishing a bass tournament. It was a pretty wierd feeling. I also had a uncle that was killed by lightning when fishing.

I leave when the lightning starts.

I also leave when the lightning starts. My experience was above 9000'
in a place that I've been able to fish only three times. All three
times we've had hair raising lightning and quit fishing. When my rod
started making noise that was an especially good signal.

Man, I'm glad I asked. I'm sorry about your uncle, Ronnie. I think
I'll be heading off the river, next time I hear that rumble...

I've had several similar experiences, and even though my intellect
would tell me it is dangerous, the fisherman in me just _can't_
walk away from an experience like it.

I've never had my flyrod buzzing a la bruiser, but I suppose I'd
wake up enough to leave if that happened. Otherwise, I say just
go for it.

I've heard that eclipses can offer similar adventures, but I've never
been able to plan ahead and test the theory...

Jon.
