Probably only have to use the same transducer. Ask Lowrance. May just
require unplugging the present unit, and pluging in the new unit.

I have a Lowrance Global Map 2000 GPS and fish finder unit on my champion
bass boat currently. There's a button or two that's acting kinda funny and
Lowrance tells me the unit can no longer be repaired, but they will swap it
out for a not so bad price.

Here's my question. Can anyone tell me how many hours it should take to
remove the old unit, shoot through hull transducer etc and put the new one
in. I got a quote from a new service dept I've been using (their hours to
repair stuff seems to be all over the charts) and I can't believe it's
accurrate. Their estimate is $1009. and if their rate is like $50.00 an
hour that's half a dang work week! I'm not very mechanically minded, but I
just can't believe that's an accurrate price. Labor would be more
expensive than the similar unit I'd replace it with!

Anybody have any ideas. . . . and NO . If I tried to do it myself as
mechanically minded as I am it would blow the boat up first thing I turned
it on. So that's not an option for me.
