The guy at MRFC in Ennis writes excellent reports.

I'm pretty sure the river's been right around 1200 cfs whenever I've
been there and it's apprx 2600 now. There's three of us coming with
two pickups and one boat and I'm trying to talk Bevin into bringing a
second boat...

Guy, we'll see you up there. Long drive!

The MRFC guy has updated his report again, and I'm just working on
managing my expectations:

I normally find the Madison to be pretty mystifying anyway.

Looks like the water levels and weather should be ok. Better start packing
this weekend I guess.

BH, is the Good Ship Brusier booked for the week? Warren, will the Gink boat
make it's expected appearance? Will John Hightower be able to resist the
best salmonfly hatch in 36 years? Hopefully I will find the answers to these
questions soon so I can bring the necessary boat-captain-bribery funds and
gifts.......

I don't know Bruce, sounds like it may work out pretty well. Guess we'll
wait and see and have a great time anyway. After all I could be at work
instead of fishing.

Here's a good report posted on Westfly about how the rivers in the park
are shaping up:

And the news letter by the same author. Good guy. I took a class from him
and I'd recommend him to anyone as a first rate teacher of fly tying.
