For the life of me, I do not understand your motivation in hijacking this thread from abpf, crossposting to roff, and writing this gem. It seems like you're stirring the pot of bitterness to bring the worst to the surface, but maybe I'm wrong and there is another reason. Could you please explain? It's very simple. The thread took a turn away from the Middle Fork and toward how much it costs for a major fishing trip. snipped understandable part Now I'll admit that I probably shouldn't have included the dig at Fortenberry and LaCourse that you quote, but that wasn't really my point. They insist on insulting me and calling names, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Got it. So you *were* just stirring the pot of bitterness. Too bad. Someone should throw that spoon and the entire cauldron away. -- TL, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |

You can believe anything you want, Tim. It's a free country. Everyone knows that I don't get along with Fortenberry and LaCourse, and I'm hardly alone in that regard, but my motive for crossposting that message was simply to bring up the topic of cheap, self-guided, and let's say "extreme" fishing trips. I could have done it in a better way, and I regret including the dig. -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

One of those lame-assed fishing forum things http://www.hookandsinker.com/forum/index.php takes posts from Usenet and represents them as actual forum traffic for the purpose of attracting advertisers. The bass fishing group is all fired up about it. I can't help but think that the occasional tirade of invective and acrimony is actually good for roff. Nobody would expect to attract advertisers by taking credit for some of the things I have to post about the putz. ;-) -- Ken Fortenberry |

Sometimes getting called on something causes reflection, so I can't hold that against someone. You get called on plenty. Have you ever expressed regret? Try it; you'll like it. ;-) -- TL, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |

Hell, if I was gonna regret it I wouldn't have done it in the first place. ;-) I think you're right - most of my regrets are for things I didn't do. In the heat of summer I regret not fishing more when the air was cooler, and in the dead of winter I regret not fishing more when it was warmer. I regret not telling the people I love how much I do, and telling them more often. But, I regret having some not-nice conversations with people no longer reading or posting here (you regulars can BMIA) and I regret running off some newbies before I really knew who they were. There's a lot more, but I'd probably regret posting it. . . So I don't regret it later, I appreciate this group a great deal. When I last went fishing a week ago, I was thinking that nearly everything I was using and every action I took to catch some very nice fish was a result of being here, getting good advice, and meeting some way-cool people. I get to live vicariously through the TR's of people visiting places that I can now picture. ROFF rules! But I digress. . . -- TL, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |
