http://www.chicagofishing.org has a handy dandy table... WOW! I love this, thanks, and I'm dying to go with a boat! (but unlikely I don't know anybody with one, and I don't want to be a "fishing tourist" again - I went once, at it was nice, but I didn't have complete control of the fish action.. http://snipurl.com/pescatamichigan so I won't go again). I would like to find fishing mates, enjoying friendship and fishing, and if someone has a boat and wants to go fishing together, I'll love it. it may not seem all that intuitive at first, but if you click on "bass", it'll only show you lakes known to have bass... same thing for trout (although it won't list lakes with both bass and trout exclusively, you'd have to list one and then then other) also, click on rentals at the top to get a list of lakes where boat rentals are available... it's very nice job. the day was a bust... also, check out Dale Bowmans column in the Chicago Sun-Times as there are usually a list of charter services there as well. as I told you, I went on a charter once, but is not for a real fisherman like me, it's for fishertourists :-) -- ciao Vittorix |

It costs a lot of money to have, maintain, license, and fuel a boat. I strongly suggest if you do find somebody willing to take you fishing in their boat that you be more than generous with fuel assistance, bring extra munchies and drinks for your host when you go, and when you get off the water take the time to hep your host clean and store his boat. If you don't you probably won't get invited back very often. -- Bob La Londe http://www.YumaBassMan.com |

I know it well, when I went to other people boats in Italy usually we divided all expenses. the same is when we go together fishing with a car. we divide fuel, food, baits, everithing. that's friendship. I don't want to take advantage of anybody. -- ciao Vittorix |

Hi Vittorix, Well this ain't about fishing in, or near Chicago (I used
to live in Chicago, lived there all my life up until 2 years ago) But it's a nice joke to tell you, and everyone else here in the group: One day, I decided to take the day off, and go down the the Museum of Science And Industry down by the Lakefront. While browsing around the Museum, I decided to go take a look at the captured German Submarine, the U-505. So, while I'm standing there looking at the Submarine, there's this little old Italian Man standing next to me looking at it too, so I decided to strike up a conversation with him. So, I asked the little old man "Say, is that a U-Boat"? And the little old man replied, No, That'sa no my Boat, I justa looook"! lol, Mark |
