Not to burst your bubble, but I believe the prices you saw are Ewings
prices to dealers, I don't think they sell direct to the public. As BD
said, I wouldn't generally use Ewing for trout flies, but for
streamers, buggers, etc, they'd be OK. I now use Collins hackle for
most of my tying.
