Well, you might be glad to know that there is a point where you can have too
much sensitivity. I had a dream rod and reel made for me. I spent a few
hours today fishing with this ultimate combo. I have to say there is feel
and then there is too much. Call it sensory overload.

Everything is amplified to the point where you cannot tell what you are
feeling because you are feeling everything way too much. I'm sure I missed
some strikes today because right now I cannot tell what the hell I am
feeling. Was that a blade of grass or tree branch.

The question becomes do you totally retrain yourself for this one rod, or
shelve it as a collectors item and stick with your lesser rods? Could be
quite a strain on the O'checkbook to own a whole arsenal of these puppies.

I've actually thought that this could happen as well. Sometimes, feeling
everything is NOT a good thing.

I have an All Star with PowerPro that is incredibly sensitive. Too much at
times, even with mono line. Once you get used to it though, you learn what
to identify what you are feeling. Just like the first time you picked up a
Loomis, Craig.

That must be a hell of a rod you have there!

G.Loomis IMX Blank, Splined, 10 gold cermet titanium guides, custom handle
formed to my hand (as I palm my reel) to max blank contact, etc. Reel is a
step above too.

With that fancy rod & reel you must be pretty excited about coming up to
Wisconsin in September & showing us your skills eh?

I agree with Charles. I had the same problem as you when I first fished my Millennium Rod built by Rodmaker but now that I'm
aclimated to it switching back and forth with my other rods isn't bad. I do find I use my custom rod the most though. Maybe
someday I'll be able to afford another. Doc

Ya. . . susususure. . . . cacacacacan't wait. . . . I actually do look
forward to fishing with you. I mean if both members of Team Ego are both
there, they have to pair us up. Right Steve?! The two mouths. . . . they
need to put up and produce or shut up. . . . . Sounds right to me!

One of you would have to rent a boat, but sure. The first day of the
tournament, you can pick your partner if you'd like. Let me know and I'll
start arranging for boat rentals.

I'd almost let them take my boat... I'd love to see the two of them
together. For some reason, Redding and Norton come to mind... LOL

Hey. . . I think the two of us would get along great on the water. We both
know the importance of team work (even when you are competitors) to assure
the success of each other. I also think we would bring out the best in each
other. We may not always see eye to eye, but we know how to fish and our
differences in style would compliment each other as well.

But don't you know, I want to fish with you too Charles. Steve, Dwayne
Cooper (if he goes), Dave Norton, Joe H, Bob Rickard, etc., But you and
Warren especially. I think we could learn a little from each other and have
a blast at the same time.
