So how about it? Champlain in Summer if not this year, put the wheels
in motion for next year?

And as a note, while prizes are cool and all, I think just as a many
people would come without goodie bags and door prizes -- and if you
wanted, you could make the dinner a "bring something to share" pot luck
like of deal....

Any of your NE cohorts want to scout out a lodge/campground/ neighbor's
front yard for us to call home?

Mallets Bay would be a great starting point, in the Burlington Vt area...

I know we hashed this around before -- but I'd suggest to the group we
expand the offerings to 3 events a year. I know, not *everyone* could
make all three, but it might open the doors for some of our lurkers --
or geographically challenged anglers --- to attend one of these fun
tourneys.

Big O is farther than I care to travel but I think it's an awesome place
for a tourney -- especially with Moe and Doc in charge.

Georgia / SC/ Texas all have outstanding fisheries.

And if Tennessee is great, Barkely sounds awesome -- maybe fishing from
either the KY or Tn side.

And while we're on a mini - rant: how about if Warren, Rich Z and those
two from NY/NJ: ThunderKing and AlwaysFishboy get together and put on a
North East get together.

Heck, we could do a spring, summer, fall and winter tourney!!!!!

(PS: Yes, we could do an Iowa tourney -- but the only hawgs here have
four legs and are standing in light at the slaughter house. Now deer
hunting, hmmmm, that's a different news group)

I would LOVE to go back there if at all possible. However, you know
that Eufala is on "The List" and would be a no brainer too. Santee

Fishing camp (tents/RVs) in the summer sounds awesome!
Could it be done on (or near) Champlain?

I disagree. Doing it out of the southern end of the lake would open it up
for more boats. Just a whole lot more accessible, protected water down
there. The big boats could still run as far north as they cared to.

This is something that TC and Randy were considering for last year. I know
that TC fell in love with Champlain. I'd like to see it happen there this
year, too.

I still want to return to Okee, I would be more than happy to have a NE
Classic up at Champlain and would gladly donate my time setting things up,
at the same time I wouldn't want to take away from the NWC, after all this
was the place of my first ROFB tourney and the beggining of many friendships
here. So I wouldn't want to take away from that. I couldn't possibly do all
three in 1 year. and strangely enough the thought of missing one is not
something I want to think about.

Now if Mr. Huber wanted to take a break next year from the wonderful job
he has done in the past, then that would definetly open up the possibility
for a good NE classic. And while me and Harry have a list of about 24 lakes
we want to fish together, boom lake is the lake I want to pull a limit
from,(in 1 day) and besides no one throws an after hours party better than
Steve. IMO : )

no fish like the big ones in Fla but good numbers and those spots fight

I am open to anything. I figured everyone would be wanting to return to
Okeechobee after this year's results.

Hey Randy: Think summer! If not 2004, how about next summer.

Like I said, everyone may not make all three -- but I know there have to
be a bunch of NE ROFB'ers who could get away for a 3 day weekend.

I've already looked at Mapquest (20 hours) Dang I might even drag the boat!

Water's too skinny down there in my opinion. Too long a run to those bustin
smallies up North too. What better place to start than half way up the
lake? The VT scenery & surroundings blows away that South end too. Gotta
go for the whole experience on Champlain. Heck, Mallett's Bay is like a
giant lake itself, perfect for those smaller boats.

Mid to Late September seems like the optimal time to fish Champlain from
what I've seen.
