Flyfising ops in Asia?

I know I posted this about a year ago, but now that I'm here, place
names and distances have more meaning to me.

So, drawing on the experience and resources of fellow roffians, can
anyone tell me about flyfising opportunities in Asia, especially
freshwater? I've already figured out all you can do on HK island is
SWFF, but I'm not sure about the New Territories yet. Roger is
researching Japan, and we'll certainly get to do some there, and we're
planning a trip to NZ. But what about Thailand, Vietnam, mainland China
(I'm making a trip to Yunnan province in March), and other locales? I'm
interested in places where I can get to on a 3-day weekend from here,
to get my fix. I am also interested in Dream Trips, like the ones the
boys did to Kamchatka. You only live once....

No idea about travel time, access, or anything else involving Asia and
fishing. I usually even skip the rare Asia article in the FF mags. But
Prosek did write about trout fishing in China in Fly Fishing the 41st
Parallel (and I've probably butchered the name and spelling)

A google search shows me that you butchered neither; thanks, Wayne.
Although its not in my current neck of the weeds, Amazon.com has been
notified...

Anyone else got any leads? :-)

Just me, but fishing for Masu salmon (Taiwan, Japan) would rank higher
than taiman......
