body? Is it just several strands twisted together and wrapped?

I tie the deer hair behind the hook eye and "cross hatch the thread" towards
the back and bring it back towards the front.

If I had used a bigger hook and darker thread it would have been easier to
see but maybe you can get a better idea from this example.
