I guess the next state on my list is Maine. Louie says
there's supposed to be some sort of tailwater up there
that holds brook trout. ;-)

If your driving do stop off in Central Mass at a certain spot, or if
you want to see the Battenkill I am sure I could find a spot or three
where you wouldn't be disappointed ...

Now there's an idea. Make a fly fishing trek of it and fish
in states I've never fished in all along the way. I could add
Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire
to my list of states before I even got to Maine to fish with
Myron and Louie. I've been meaning to get to Pennsylvania for a
Spring 'Clave anyway.

I wonder which would be more expensive, the gas or all those
fishing licenses ?

Pete,
What will you know after you survey all of ROFF?

May things. I wonder if easterners go west, or if few westerners bother
coming east. I wonder if folks who live in real shangri-la areas bother
travelling from home at all. I wonder what the average number of states a
guy will visit to fish. Curious stuff, you know.

Pete

Thus far, counting only states, provinces and territories of the U.S. and
Canada (I'm content to leave the rest of the world to someone more
ambitious), it looks like Wayne Knight is in the lead with thirty......even
after the second Virginia and the second Kansas were discounted. Joel and
Myron are tied for second at 26. Pennsylvania and Michigan are tied for
most fished with 11 hits apiece. North Carolina rounds out the top 3 with 9
hits. No one has yet confessed to fishing in Kentucky, Nevada, Nunavut,
Oklahoma, or PEI.

Noted. Will be added to the magic computational device first thing in the
morning.

who will, for the nonce, forego exploring the now obvious questions
regarding the veracity and accuracy of the entire list of respondents.

um.......and who sorta forgot to add missouri to his own list.

My booze budget is surprisingly modest. Nobody wants
my Budweiser and hardly anybody takes seconds of my
Laphroaig. You'd almost think I planned it that way. ;-)

I prefer to fish near home. Lots of water to cover.

With my admittedly long list of states, why do I now feel jealous?

Because you can't leave home in the morning and fish the Crowsnest,
Oldman and Livingstone Rivers in a single day?
