![]() "Dave" wrote in message Strathclyde Park??? According to North Lanarkshire Council and the Strathclyde Park Rangers there are no pike in Strathclyde Park Loch! Not only are there no pike in the loch but there are very few fish left at all. Initially there were bream, carp, roach, tench and perch but most of the fish died. I have a friend who is a park ranger within the park and North Lanarkshire Council have no intentions of maintaining stocks in the loch as encouraging fishing is not a priority. You would be very lucky to find anyone fishing in the loch nowadays as although permits are still available and sold most of the loch is a no go area due to the large number of young drunken gangs frequenting the park from afternoon til evening. According to Strathclyde Police there have been a number of recorded incidents where anglers have been robbed and assaulted within the park grounds. Car crime in the car parks and surrounding area is rife and no matter what time you visit the park you'll find various vehicles with smashed windows. |
