Default Mike C: question

Sounds like an Alvey Sidecaster, a popular reel here in Australia. My first
ever fishing rig apart from a pine sapling with cord line was a pine sapling
with runners bound on by twine and an alvey sidecaster. Many a redfin
(english perch) was taken with the above rig .
