I just got some good news from the biopsy lab at the
University of Illinois Small Animal Clinic. The lump
under Kipper the Hound's right armpit is a benign
limpoma and so long as it doesn't bother him it need
not be removed.

Woo Hoo !! I'll drink to that and Kipper gets a big
chunk of braunschweiger !

Congrats. Pepper the border collie had a tumor removed last year,
and while it was benign, it's no fun to have to send your pooch to go
under the knife.

You could at least give him a beer, too.

Oh wait ... he's probably been through enough already. ;-)

Two summers ago we noticed Henry wasn't as spry as he normally is. He
had Lyme's D. Some antibiotics and he was fine.

He'll have a chew on his old ham bone in honor of the good news on
Kipper.

Not until this weekend. Kipper doesn't drink beer unless
we're on a fishing trip or SWMBO is out of town. Speaking
of SWMBO being out of town, are you going to San Antonio
for ALA Mid-winter ?

I love ALA Mid-winter, it means beer for Kipper and Pasta
Carbonnara for me. ;-)

I think that might have been a lipoma, but good news at any rate.
Years ago, I had a dog who developed several benign lipomas, and lived a
good long time(nearly 14 years). Braunschweiger away!!

Nah, the only reason for me to go to ALA is if I'm looking for a
new job or to drink margaritas on the Riverwalk, and I'm not looking
for a job.

Oh ... wait ... maybe there is still a reason for me to go. :-)

Mmmmm ... carbonara. :-) So SWMBO doesn't go for the raw egg
thing? I've been eating carbonara since my mom used to make it for us
in the seventies, but I guess we just didn't know any better then. ;-)

I can relate to the food that SWMBO doesn't eat but I love. In
fact, one of my favorites is smoked kippers (not dogs) with purple
onions and English muffins for brunch.

Chuck Vance (and a nice porter or stout goes well with it, but I
don't usually give any of it to the dogs)
