Hello again everyone! I love to learn as much as I can about all kinds of
fishing. I often breeze by to see if I can pick up a few tips and tricks from you Peeps. I enjoy some of these tips and Tricks and often find a few that really make my fishing trips better. I would like to propose to you all that perhaps some peeps would enjoy sharing some of their tips with others, and maybe we could begin a Tree of Tricks and Tips?! Ok?! #1. Tree of Tricks and Tips..........I propose to begin with: Spinning reels are notorious beasts when it comes to line twist. Having said this and everyone who fishes one knows this fact. I learned a Trick that will untwist your line every time and avoid having to eventually respool. Sorry but it only works if you are fishing out of a BOAT: First cut off the bait, second, while you are trolling along, release about 100 feet of line out behind your boat. Re-engage your reel and pull the line through the water for about 2 or 3 minutes at a speed of about 10mph. The friction of the water pulling against the line will remove the twist. Reel the line back while still moving. #2. Tree of Tricks and Tips: This one is for all the peeps who love to Catfish and live in the areas where Catawba trees and Catawba worms are prevalent. Break off the head of the worm and with a toothpick, turn the worm inside out. This one ranks up there in the top ten. Don't believe? Well then when no ones looking....just try it. You Will believe! #3 Tree of Tricks and Tips: anyone?? |

Access to a pier, stream or long enough section of shoreline can get the job done. I've also read that walking the line through grass works too, but I can't verify that. I've used the other water methods. |
