Exactly right, John. I'll confess to having done both in the past but given my druthers, I'd just as soon not do either in the future. (I'll make an exception for Santeetlah, just 'cause it's so goddamn pretty.) I wouldn't mind shooting a few farm-raised pheasants. But shooting 70 seems a little extreme. How long does it take someone to eat 70 pheasants? um....i'd be willing to volunteer for the experiment, assuming a reasonably competent cook. (and no olives) jeff |

If you pay for 5 birds, you'll take home 5 birds whether you shoot them yourself or the "guide" does. Hm..... You say "They may as well be fenced in for all the chance they have." Can't speak for anyone else, but it seems clear to me that this means they are NOT fenced in. Hobbled? Chained to a stake? Left in the cage? Wings clipped? Raised in cages some of them don't have sense enough to fly away from the dogs and they have to have a swift kick before they'll fly away. It's called "boot and shoot" hunting and it bears about as much resemblence to real wing shooting as fishing in a pay lake bears to real trout fishing. Raised in cities (or out in the country, for that matter) some of them don't have sense enough to wait until they find something they know something about before speaking or writing. You give them a swift kick, they lick the boot and hoot. It bears about as much resemblance to real discussion as open mike night at the village hall. You ever actually see a pheasant? Wolfgang |

![]() wolf, I found this program several years back, when I was doing lots of website work. I was finding myself typing exactly the same code snippets over, and over, and over, and over. Clipmate makes it much easier to repeat yourself with less strain from typing. It let's you extend the Windows clipboard so that you can far more easily reuse the same old stuff, even in a slightly different order, without having to re-type anything. You might want to check it out, could save a guy like you a lot of time http://www.thornsoft.com/ |
