Although I basically agree with you that the incident is being overblown
(there are many more important things to criticize the administration
about), your above statement is just bull****, IMO. It was carelessness,
not an "accident". Chaney is responsible for shooting the guy PERIOD.

IMO, using the word "accident" dismisses the act with a "OOPS",
"Accidents do happen" - bull****. It's not an "OOPS" when you shoot
another person.

That attitude is part of the reason why I'm uncomfortable being around
people I don't know VERY well who are carrying a gun.


On a lighter note....

I was involved in similar situation a long time ago when I was fishing a
stream in central Illinois. A guy was hunting rabbits with a shotgun and
sprayed me with shot. It hurt but didn't really injure me. However, it
did REALLY **** me off!! Like an idiot I took off after a guy toting a
gun while screaming and yelling at him that I was going to kick his ass.
Luckily, he decided to run instead of shoot!!


Even with professionals "accidents" do happen, at least this cop shot
himself instead of any of the kids....

rw, and willi, and janik, and ... all the others. this is not some childish
call to sing kumbaya around some imaginary campground fire. i just wish
that when we disagree, we could do it without becoming so ****ing personal.

When did roff start becoming what it is today? I can remember when a
post by me did not give license for a nasty remark by Wolfgang or
Steve and vice versa. I blame it mostly on our politics. I can
remember when Tatosian was a friend and we fished together, when I
could speak to Wolfgang and not get rewarded with a barrage of
name-calling, and yes, I too am guilty of the same things. I can
remember fishing with rw and even giving him a ride in my truck at the
first SJ Clave.

When did it all change? What chased away the likes of Peter Collin
and Peter Charles, Zimbo, Waldo, Tom Brown, Warren, Bouncer Morrison,
and the gentleman from California who invented (and shared with us)
his tool for tying barrel knots? I've addressed this once before on
roff and got zero response from you and everyone else, so I'm not
holding my breath this time.

Can't we all just get along and get back to posting material on fly
fishing?
