i am unable to fail to respond to this sort of tragedy. i know how
useless it is for me to say anything to each of you, how likely it will be

engender anger towards myself, by responding in this fashion;

I consider myself yourr friend, wayno. When is the last time I showed
anger toward you? I applaud your attempt at invening in this yet
another ****ing contest, and I can assure you I feel no anger toward
you.

but i just
can't avoid doing this: that is, pointing out to both of you that i have
fished with each of you, and shared time with each of you, in many different
environs, and have found each of you to be boon companions, without regard
to your political positions, and i must conclude that these imprints on
these pages are a great waste of time and friendship.

Amen

i wish you would stop. and not just you, but forty, and charlie, and
rw, and willi, and janik, and ... all the others. this is not some childish
call to sing kumbaya around some imaginary campground fire. i just wish
that when we disagree, we could do it without becoming so ****ing personal.

When did roff start becoming what it is today? I can remember when a
post by me did not give license for a nasty remark by Wolfgang or
Steve and vice versa. I blame it mostly on our politics. I can
remember when Tatosian was a friend and we fished together, when I
could speak to Wolfgang and not get rewarded with a barrage of
name-calling, and yes, I too am guilty of the same things. I can
remember fishing with rw and even giving him a ride in my truck at the
first SJ Clave.

When did it all change? What chased away the likes of Peter Collin
and Peter Charles, Zimbo, Waldo, Tom Brown, Warren, Bouncer Morrison,
and the gentleman from California who invented (and shared with us)
his tool for tying barrel knots? I've addressed this once before on
roff and got zero response from you and everyone else, so I'm not
holding my breath this time.

Can't we all just get along and get back to posting material on fly
fishing?

we will regret it, one day.

I already do.

Dave
