One of my potential summer trips is out your way. I'll send word if that comes to be. One of the scenarios includes some time due west of you, north of the RMNP. Here's a couple places I've caught them: http://www.crystalglen.net/Fishing/Greenbacks.htm Very nice. The introduction of the Rainbow more than any other factor has lead to the demise of the Cutts. It was my understanding, backed up in the movie, that our beloved brookies did a number on the cutthroats too. Never thought much about it but the fall spawn of the brookies means the fingerlings are mighty hungry come spring when the cutts spawn- and those newly spawned cutts become breakfast for the brookies. I'm glad they included Bob Behnke in the movie. He's an interesting man, very unprepossessing, easy to talk to, and obviously a central figure in the reinvigoration of cutthroat trout. Bill Let me know when. If I'm around I'd be glad to play guide. We're going to have HEAVY runoff this year, so later rather than earlier (unless you want to hike in to a lake) is better. PS Did your friend learn to cast? Willi |

I think most rivers will still be in major runoff. Hiking into a lake sounds very, very good. Hopefully some of RMNP lakes will be ice free by then. If not we'll find something. Willi |
