I don't think Cheney gives two ****s about who runs the next
administration. He cares much more about lining his pockets, and his
buddies pockets. He could have taken the "let's be subtle and steal for a
long time" approach, but instead he opted for "let's steal as much as we
can before anybody notices" approach.

As to the laughingstock thing, a wounded animal is a dangerous animal.

Here's a question: Why didn't Cheney go with Wittington to the hospital?
Is there anyone out there who, if you'd just accidentally shot your
friend in the face, wouldn't go to the hospital with him?

Cheney's excuse was that there wasn't room in the ambulance. That is so
lame. How many black top-of-the-line SUVs (and drivers) do you think
Cheney had available to him? He probably had a helicopter. Instead, he
went back to the ranch house and conspicuously made himself a cocktail
in front of everyone, probably expecting law enforcement to show up at
any moment. So why didn't he go to the hospital? Either (1) HE WAS
DRUNK, or (2) he's a total jerk. Or both.
