I took a chance myself yesterday...I found the water temp in my next door
river to be in the fifties...the smallmouth should start doing their thing
any time.

I caught one seven inch chub and a humongous crawdad. He had both claws on
my white sparkle wooly bugger and didn't want to let go. Probably about a
three and one half incher...dark green with red flanks.

A real beauty of a crawdad....
