Bait, Hell boil them up in some crab boil. Bring the water to boil add
crawfish, potatoes, corn, sausage, onions and garlic. Bring back to a boil.
Lower the fire and cover and cook for another 8 minutes. Turn off the heat
and let them sit for 25 minutes in the hot water. Take the crawfish out of
the pot and spread them on the table to eat.

To eat them you break the head off and suck the juice then toss it on the
side. Next break the first ring off the tail and pinch the end. Now take
the end that you removed the ring from and place the meat in your mouth and
pull back. Now the fun part, drink some beer.

Now if you really want them done """"right"""", you also add 1 large box
of black pepper, 1 Lb real butter, and two bottles of Louisiana Hot sauce

With these true Cajun additives,, you never have tell people to drink
their beer :-)

Of course these measurements are for 50# of mudbugs,, and why would
anyone cook less than 50# at a time anyway ?

You can also try them in an egg omelet, stewed, fried, etouffee, pies, and
served with pasta.

Crawfish for live bait are best use with the pinchers pulled off ---
otherwise they can crawl around and get your line all fouled up.

you can run a hook through the tail --- or you can try tying the
crawfish to the hook using light line (I dont recommend it)

Personally, I don't know since I would never waste one for bait. Bur I did
find this in a fishing article

In my experience crawfish work best if you pull the pinchers off if you are
going to fish them on the bottom. Otherwise they will crawl around and get
you tied up. If you choose to keep the pinchers on, keep the bait off the
bottom with a three way rig or bobber rig. Crawfish should be hooked through
the tail when used whole, or you can cut the tail off and then thread the
tail onto a hook.

I also found this article on bass fishing in New Jersey and it address
crawfish. http://www.njskylands.com/odfishbas.htm
