So, nobody is concerned that this person doesn't have a usu.edu email
address?

Actually he does have an .edu email address, as he has emailed me.
I also have a son in college, so I felt I could take a little of my time to
help a student write a paper. By the questions he was asking there didn't
seem to be a threat, and as it turned out he's a pretty good kid and
interested in fly-fishing.

Last month, I was helping out another high school student with his casting.
It was fun for me to watch his eagerness to learn.
fwiw,

dot dot dot

I've got two sons in college and felt no need to help somebody who looked
like they were doing market research while masquerading as a student. Call
me jaded.

Thanks for the kind words.

Went fly fishing for the first time on a river last week. Caught five
fish. There isn't anything in the world quite like fly fishing!!
Thanks for your help with my paper. If you care to see the final
paper, you can read it at the following link.
http://www.hardnewscafe.usu.edu/spor...06_bigfly.html

The class that I was taking was an into-to-online journalism class
and requires the use of interviews through the medium of the internet
and e-mail and I appreciate your quality responses.

Thanks again,
Jared

Uh, yeah, it's worried me sick since I first saw the highly personal
questions...hopefully, you've alerted the FBI and the NSA...

HTH,
R
....and nefarious activity like this should make the reasons for an even
stronger Patriot Act apparent to all...
