year?

hope you make it frank...we need some carnivale potential. with the two
of us there, something untoward and dark is bound to occur for the
amusement of the other stalwarts. and really, after spending 3 months in
nebraska a soul is properly and fully entitled to express itsownself in
montana. (a year probably earns new zealand...)

only two months. still unsure who'll be showing up. other than me, makela
and roger(?), doesn't sound like many distance travelers will be in the
area. small crowds seem to be the deal this year...not many traveling to
penns either. i'm gonna miss the regulars out west, especially my good
friend and fellow traveler, ij. but, each year is a new adventure. warren
promises some interesting hikes into new areas, and since he won't be
burdened with the gink boat duties this year, i'm looking forward to
spending more time on the water with him and learning a bit more about the
great mystery.

I was looking forward to seeing IJ, Bruce and Willi, but I am trying to go
anyway. Some hikes sound good to me. I'd like to get a room at the Slide
Inn but last I checked none were available. Preferrably a single. If
anyone cannot go for some reason let me know before you cancel your
reservation. Otherwise I'll look into the cabins farther downstream. I'm
at about 80%.

fellers, this life squirms away too fast...best get you a handful of it
every chance you get.

goddammit, jeff, not only do I have to sit here and look at your damned
pictures of one of the prettiest trout streams outside Graham, Clay, Macon,
Swain, and Cherokee counties, but I've got to hear about Montana too. ****,
****, and hell.

SWMBO owes me BIG time (she had a most effective way of convincing me to
turn down a trip to Chile), so I figger I have a pretty good supply of guilt
chips socked away. Hope I can cash some of them in.

Better make sure I have the camera ready at all times. Too bad we can't get
the film crew on site...

The film crew has recently been subjected to stern admonishments from the
Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and an ominous silence
emanating from west suburban Philadelphia. The union is making ugly noises
and the National Endowment for the Arts is conducting an investigation.
There has been talk of excommunication, exorcism.....and execution. For the
nonce, the film crew will not be quitting its day job.

Wolfgang
who, while not averse to suffering for his art, thinks it only fair that the
audience should shoulder their fair share of the burden.
