Default A New Rod...

On Sunday I somehow managed to break the tip section of my Scott 3wt.

I am almost in tears. I will be able to get a balanced replacement by
sending them the butt section but I need to find another 3wt. to use while
it's broken/being repaired. Whatever I get will be kept as a backup and
loaner.

I have gotten very used to the stiffer action of the Scott rods. I've
thought about getting a less expensive rod like a Sage but the last time I
tried a Sage it felt "sloppy" to me. They may very well be making

something
now that I would like.

Any suggestions for a budget rod that may have some of the characteristics
I'm used to?

I went to Blue Northern today and tried the Temple Forks Series I 7'6"
3wt. IMO pretty sloppy. Even for $90. The shop dude recommended the Pro
series 4 piece. He said it would be considerably faster at $140.

While there I also tried an Albright. Liked it.

Any thoughts?

Ric
