Had someone try to kill me in an Ausable boat but the wife read the fine print on the life insurance policy. Share great times with old friends. Caught lots of fish on dry flies, just nothing bigger than 14". And determined that Charlie Brown's kite eating tree has nothing on me when it comes to really mucking up a cast. I think we need some details on the boat story... My newsreaders said I had some 300+ unread messages. From what I gather: (and apologies to Cyli) No need to apologize, as I have no clue any offense has been done to me. 1. Some folks who fished Alaska disagree on how close to a bear they should get. And who has the bigger dick? Yep. My personal idea of bears is that seeing them from my vehicle window is much better than seeing them right across my campfire. 2. An expatriate Canadian and a Texan/Missippian, are trying to out-Mexican each other? And who has a bigger dick? That one gave me some interesting information on Mexican food. 3. An expatriate Alaskan retold a joke that's been posted a thousand times and said something incredibly ignorant about pre-war Iraq and terrorism therefore tripping on his dick. Oh, yeah. If it's only been posted a thousand times, I'm surprized. I thought I'd read it at least that many times and I'm only on a few outdoors newsgroups and wasn't on the 'Net until '95. 4. lacourse had a family member pay the ultimate sacrifice (condolence's dave) and of course it turned into a rehash of old battles and who has the bigger dick? Well, yeah. 5. Claspy went to Mass but the Mass boys kept him away from the poetry proving they had bigger dicks. I don't think that one was that clear cut. (nobody make the obvious joke, which I've just noticed, but I'm unwilling to go back and rephrase). is this a fair rehash or do I need to read the rest of the freeking messages? Yep. I think you've got everything. There was some stuff about fishing and even about use of particular flies, but nothing I can recall that was outstanding or terribly innovative. -- r.bc: vixen Speaker to squirrels, willow watcher, etc.. Other than to say a 24' narrow drift boat with me in the front, poled by a newbie boatsman in back on a sweeper choked winding michigan stream on a moonless foggy night is not exactly for the faint of heart. The manistee is deeper and sandier than the Ausable and I knew we were in trouble when he pulled out a four foot push pole. No need to apologize, as I have no clue any offense has been done to me. Trying to recognize your status as the only regular female poster, while I gather you can handle yourself well, in some circles the dick references would be considered even cruder in the present of females. it's a southern thing. Yep. I think you've got everything. There was some stuff about fishing and even about use of particular flies, but nothing I can recall that was outstanding or terribly innovative. While it would appear I missed some posts about gastro-intestinal procedures and the preceeding prep, there was nothing truly outstanding about that. Thanks Thank you. |

The manistee is deeper and sandier than the Ausable and I knew we were in trouble when he pulled out a four foot push pole. Oh, yeah. Scary stuff. Sweepers in the dark are not good. Been there on a slow river, don't want to do it on a fast one. No need to apologize, as I have no clue any offense has been done to me. I"m a northerner, and was brought up in a time when if women didn't want to hear that stuff, they should get back in the kitchen or keep on with the filing. Well, not quite that bad... But a bit of crudity just doesn't seem to bother me most of the time. And it's such a familiar sort of phrase on here. Yep. I think you've got everything.
