I would avoid them at all costs, especially if you plan to fish moving water because in moving water the damn things are downright dangerous. If you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods, (at the intersection of I57, I74, & I72) let me know and I'll let you take a stab at bass fishing from a canoe. -- Ken Fortenberry |

![]() "Charles Summers" wrote in message . .. They say that the two happiest days of owning a boat is the day you buy it, and the day you sell it. That's aint exactly true... While Brandon (aka: Inky) was extremely happy this morning as Steve and I were giving him boating lessons, I quietly felt as though I was losing a small part of me. It wasn't a happy day for me, even though I was ready to sell my belived Nitro. I was happy to see it going to someone who I felt would take care of it, and I have to say that Brandon is one lucky son of a gun. 1. He picked up a sweet boat at a great price... 2. Is going to have Steve Huber as a father in law... 3. Has a wife-to-be that, while expecting a baby, let's him make a boat purchase... He's going to be a happy man all the way around. I liked him as soon as I met him. As for me... I'm not totally out of fishing, but will be taking a little break from it for awhile. My wife and kids are already telling me that my next boat is going tobe a pontoon boat, but I'm not too sure about that. Afterall... I'm the one who will be paying for it. I also plan on taking Joe, Terry, and Jack up their offers to fish with them, but only when I feel desperate about wanting to catch some fish. It will be interesting being a non-boater for awhile, but next weekend I'll be taking possesion of a 2006 Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe that ought to make up for what I've given up. My Mom says it's mid-life crisis... I'm almost convinced. Goodbye Nitro... I feel for you Charles. After the Canada trip I posted on ABPF I was about ready to hang it up. Then Joe H put it all in perspective and I ready to fish again. I do want to make the Northwoods Classic. I just need to let my wife recover from this last trip. She was more upset than me by far. My Mom says it's mid-life crisis... I'm almost convinced. Goodbye Nitro... Charles my friend, You've made two young people VERY happy. Inky was so funny, all the way home, he kept checking the mirror and looking out the back window to make sure the boat was still there! We got to Inky and Becca's place about 11:30 last night and he had to drag Becca outside to "Look At" the boat in the dark! I spent the night there, planning on heading home this morning. This morning, we once again had to go look at the boat, crawl through all the compartments, look at every inch of the boat and Becca is very happy with it. I helped him with some additional purchases that all boat owners have to have (it's fun spending other people's money), helped them through the registration process and headed for Rhinelander. I got two more boat related calls from him before I drove the hour home! :-) Don't worry about the boat, it's going to be loved and well cared for, trust me on that. It might be a little bit of a mid-life crisis, but many guys go through it. At least you've limited yourself to motorcycles and not 18 year old blondes! They cost even more than a motorcycle!!!! Don't worry about it, get your motorcycle, enjoy it and know that you have a nice leather motorcycle jacket waiting for you up here in Rhinelander. I'd be willing to bet within two years (probably sooner) you'll be back in the boat market. And it's not goodbye, it's see you later. Remember, you, Joe and Terry are coming up in September to fish the NWC, right? With three sharing travel costs, it'll cost little to attend. Unless you can talk Justin into coming up. I mean, I've fished all but one Mid-Tenn/Southern Classic, and Justin hasn't fished a single NWC! That just ain't right!!!! I'll keep you updated on Nitro Inky's progress... -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

I'm going to call Justin! I know he can swing one of these... just so he can teach me how to fish shallow weedy water. How many times have I made it there? I'm thinking three... but can't remember? Looking foreward to it! |
